While vein-free legs are our specialty, protecting your vascular health isn’t the only thing you need to do to have gorgeous legs this summer. Exfoliating regularly can help remove dead skin cells, preventing ingrown hairs and fostering a smooth, even appearance. If you’re looking for some tips on how to exfoliate your legs to the best of your ability, you’ve come to the right place!
Exfoliate Weekly – As a general rule, try not to exfoliate more than once a week. Exfoliating too often will have an adverse effect and can actually cause your skin to become brittle and dry.
Create a Scrub – While you might be tempted to purchase a scrub from your local grocery or beauty store, we suggest creating your own instead. A simple DIY scrub combines coffee, coconut oil, and a bit or salt or sugar to help exfoliate and eliminate cellulite in the process.
Wash First – Before you start scrubbing, make sure you give your legs their normal soaping first. Exposing your legs to warm water first is the best way to begin exfoliating.
Shave After – Shaving your legs can irritate the skin, making it more difficult to scrub them after the fact. If your weekly exfoliating day falls on a shaving day, make sure you exfoliate first, shave later. Doing so afterwards will also help you get a closer shave.
Apply Moisturizer – After all is said and done and you’ve patted your silky smooth legs dry, don’t forget to moisturize! If you really want to go the extra mile, consider applying coconut oil instead.
