To schedule, just call your doctor’s office during business hours and request a virtual video appointment.
What is a virtual video appointment? A virtual video appointment is similar to an office visit, only instead of traveling to see your provider you can video conference with them from your home. Our dermatology providers can assess symptoms, make a diagnosis, recommend treatment, and send prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy. We also have the capability for you to send the provider a photo of the area of your concern the photo goes automatically into your existing chart.
What types of appointments can I schedule as virtual video appointment? Follow-up visits with your provider or any other provider, post-operative appointments, acne follow-ups, other less complicated follow-ups, medication renewals, wound care, and many other scenario’s. Appointments that require physical examinations, such as annual CBE will still require an office visit as will other procedures such as removing a mole, draining an infected abscess, etc.
How can I schedule a virtual video appointment? Please call the office of the provider you want to schedule an appointment with and request a virtual video appointment.
Will my insurance plan cover a virtual video appointment? Most insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurance plans cover virtual video appointments – copay still applies.
Can I schedule a video virtual appointment for a child? Yes, virtual video appointments are available for children, as long as they have an existing account and a parent or caregiver is present during the virtual video appointment and gives verbal consent.
How does a virtual video appointment work? You will receive a link by either text or email to virtually check-in and at the time of the scheduled virtual video appointment you will be connected to the provider.
What if I need an appointment and I want to see a doctor in-person? Many Advanced Dermatology locations are open for both existing and new patients appointments. We are taking every precaution necessary to keep our patients and staff safe.
