You eat right. You exercise. You do what you can to stay in shape. But sometimes it seems like those fat bulges won’t budge. If you’ve been fighting the uphill battle against stubborn fat take a moment to consider the CoolSculpting® treatment.
The CoolSculpting procedure is FDA-cleared for the treatment of visible fat bulges in the submental (under the chin) and submandibular (under the jawline) areas, thigh, abdomen, and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll) and upper arm. The procedure allows little to no downtime and no surgery.
Developed by Harvard scientists and proven safe and effective, in clinical studies, it is the #1 way to reduce unwanted areas of fat. In fact, there already have been 8 million CoolSculpting treatments worldwide. CoolSculpting technology safely targets and freezes fat cells directly under the skin. The process doesn’t harm the surrounding nerves or skin tissue. Typically, up to 20-25% of the fat in the treated area is eliminated 1 to 3 months after treatment.
At our Rye Brook location, Maggie, a Surgical Medical Technician demonstrates this treatment on a new patient. This office visit was under 40 minutes and the patient was relaxed the entire time. It all starts with the patient’s fat reduction goals. You develop this during the initial consultation. Once the targeted areas are decided, it is marked and the skin is protected with a layer of material. The CoolSculpting device is placed on the skin where concentrated cold can penetrate the fat cells below the skin.
The patient will feel the briskness of treatment, joined by a desensitizing or prickling sensation. While innocuous, a few patients may want a topical ointment to lessen any discomfort. Sessions can last as long as two hours, yet patients are allowed to do as they wish during this time. In contrast to customary liposuction medical procedures, there is no downtime, and patients can resume normal life the same day after the therapy. This patient was very pleased with the process and is on track to meet her fat reduction goals. Click here to learn more about CoolSculpting or schedule a consultation.
