PicoSure is the world’s first picosecond laser for the effective removal of tattoos. At Advanced Dermatology, it became the gold standard in removing difficult ink colors as well as previously treated tattoos, with fewer treatment sessions and less downtime. Our clinical team is experienced in applying PicoSure and other tattoo removal lasers to match tattoo colors and skin tones of our NY and NJ patients.
Laser energy, measured in picoseconds (one trillionth of a second in length), is delivered to the tattoo, targeting the ink and breaking it down into smaller particles. These particles are eliminated through the body’s natural processes. Clinical trials have proven that picosecond technology is safe and effective for tattoo removal and provides significantly better results than older Q-switched lasers.
While you may pay more for each PicoSure Laser treatment compared to the older Q-switched laser treatments, the PicoSure targets all ink colors in one treatment. It can remove tattoos much faster than other lasers with minimal damage to the skin. We often see patients in our New Jersey and New York offices for PicoSure and overall cost is lower than older technologies.
Call us today for a consultation to see how PicoSure can quickly remove all colors of tattoos off all types of skin. We see patients in multiple locations in NY and NJ, including in Westchester, Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk county), Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Ridgewood.
Other tattoo removal lasers can require 10 to 20 treatments to see results. Clinical trials with PicoSure showed a significant reduction in the number of treatments required for clearance.
Our dermatologists generally try to schedule treatments at least 6 weeks apart. We have to allow your body to heal and eliminate the ink particles. Treating before the skin is fully healed could put you at a much higher risk of scarring.
Our dermatologists recommend patients avoid sun exposure to the tattoo for 1-2 days prior to treatment. After treatment, we often ask patients to avoid physical activity a day or two days to avoid irritating or damaging the treated skin. After that, patients can go about their daily routine, but should avoid intense sun exposure until the area is completely healed. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to call us.
With 40+ locations conveniently located in NYC, Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut, a top-rated dermatologist is just around the corner.
